Tech Startups Mega Event in Brussels: Startups.be

Startups

Next April 19th there will be a mega event for tech startups and starters at the Egg in Brussels. If you have a startup or want to start one, you can not miss it.

The event starts at 2pm and will go on until the night, with some drinks after a Betagroup Pitch Slam. My experience tells me that it will end up even later with informal dinners going on until late.

You do not have to attend the full event, just go to the parts that interest you or can attend. It is free and you just have to sign up here

I’m one of the organizers representing the Betagroup, as part of the 19 Belgian organizations supporting Tech Entrepreneurs that have decided to combine their efforts to accelerate our startup environment even more via Startups.be – Future Business Support.

Come to the Presentation of the French Translation of Steve Blank’s The Four Steps to the Epiphany – Coworking Brussels – Bruxelles Coworking – Brussel BetaGroup Betacowork

Picture

The Betagroup Coworking Brussels is proud to host the worlwide premiere of the brand new translation in French of the Lean Startup and Customer Development bible: The Four Steps to the Epiphany, now also known as Les 4 ??tapes vers l’??piphanie.

When Antoine Bruyns contacted us, we knew instantly that we had to do it. He’s an example of the kind of entrepreneurial individual that makes things happen: he contacted Steve Blank and offered to do the translation. Then, he has spent a lot of hours after his job to help with the promotion of this concepts in French.

Don’t let the title misslead you, this book synthesizes the basic steps to bring a product to market, nothing to do with religion.

I, Ramon, have a lot of interest in everything Lean Startup  and Customer Development, and so do a lot of the entrepreneurial minds around the Betagroup. This is the perfect opportunity for the CustDev & Lean Startup communities to get together in Brussels

The presentation will be followed by the glorious drinks and chips that fit so well the Betagroup events.
Buy the book! Achetez Les 4 ??tapes vers l’??piphanie !
PS: on the 23 we will be hosting the livecast of the 2011 Startup Lessons Learned, with Eric Ries, Steve Blank and many more.

First Startup Weekend in Belgium

Launch Your Startup in 54 hours

For the first time in Belgium, 80 people will get together in Brussels to turn their ideas into running startups over the course of the  Startup Weekend Brussels: from idea to startup in just 54 hours.

Startup Weekend starts on Friday evening with participants presenting (pitching) their startup ideas. The participants (a mix of developers, designers, and business professionals)  vote on the best ideas. From those selected 10 teams are formed and work begins until Sunday evening, when a working prototype and validated business concept are presented to the jury, a panel of investors and business people.  The full winning team will win their seats in the Founders Institute spring programme.

Startup Weekend is a global phenomenon: over 500 startups have been kicked off and over 15,000 entrepreneurs have been inspired.  Some startups went on to raise funds from Business Angels or Venture Capitalists, and some even started to generate revenue during the 54hr event.

Who is ir for?

Entrepreneurs, developpers, designers, marketeers, financers, attorneys, PR professionals… Everyone that wants to turn an idea into something real in just a weekend.

Among others: Ben Piquard (Microsoft), Brice Le Blevenec (Emakina), Bart Becks (SonicAngels), Harley Lovegrove (Bayard Parnership), Sidsel Grae (SAM Headhunting), and David Hachez (RazWar, winner of the  Bizz Starter Award.)

Public cible

Entrepreneurs, développeurs, designers, architectes IT, marketing, financiers, juristes, relations publiques…
